Why a European Bluegrass Forum ?

Willkommen im BLUEGRASSFORUM.EU, dem europäischen Bluegrass-Treffpunkt. Diese Seite ist für Bluegrass-Musiker gedacht, ganz gleich, ob Profi oder Hobby-Musiker.

	After having played a lot of fingerstile, celtic open tunings kinda stuff, pop songs and country I finally ran into the Bluegrass, layed away the thumbpick time after time and I certainly searched the web for Bluegrass and Bluegrass folks. After all it would be nice to jawbone a bit with other pickers and get into conversation. Soon I got the impression of a scene fragmented and dissipated. I ocurred to me that there is no hotspot. Maybe some band had got a forum here and annother one got one there but most of them are hard to find and I did not find what could be called a hub. Time to change things. First issue to be solved was a domain getting to the center, nailing what is meant: If it is going to be a bluegrass forum, it should be "bluegrassforum". And next: Observing real borders and limitations vanish in the real world, why shouldn't it be a European bluegrass forum ? "EU" ... ponder ponder .... reminds me of something. Yes: There are eu-domains since the end of 2005. And in all these years no picker had the idea of grabbing the domain and establishing BLUEGRASSFORUM.EU, the european bluegrass meeting place ? Better late than never. And here ist is.		Nachdem ich - vom Fingerstyle und allerlei sonstiger akustischer Musik kommend - vom Bluegrass gepackt wurde, die Daumenpicks beiseite lege und das Plektrum in die Hand nehme, habe ich mich natürlich auch im Web umgesehen. Immerhin hofft man doch auf einen gepflegten Gedankenaustausch mit anderen Pickern. Es ist aber festzustellen, daß die Bluegrass-Gemeinde recht zersplittert ist. Hie und da hat eine Band auf ihrer Webseite auch ein Forum, aber einen zentralen Anlaufpunkt scheint es nicht zu geben. Zeit, das zu ändern. Also mußte erst einmal eine Domain her, die die Sache auf den Punkt bringt. Wenn es ein BluegrassForum sein soll, soll die Domain auch Bluegrassforum heißen. Wenn man dann noch sieht, daß bei dieser Musik die Grenzen ebenso schwinden, wie sie das in der realen, handfesten Europäischen Welt tun, sollte es auch gleich ein Europäisches Bluegrassforum werden. EU, da war doch was. Ja, es gibt die "EU"-Domains seit Ende 2oo5. Und trotz dieser Jahre ist noch kein Picker auf die Idee gekommen, sich die Domain zu holen und das BLUEGRASSFORUM.EU auf die Beine zu stellen ? Naja, besser spät, als nie. Und hier ist es also.

	The bluegrassforum is bi-lingual and can be used in English as well as in German. Other languages should not be used though. Simple reason for that: I only understand the languages mentioned above and so I will be able to moderate the forum in these two languages only.		Das BluegrassForum kann sowohl in englischer, als auch in der deutschen Sprache benutzt werden. Andere Sprachen sollen nicht verwendet werden. Simpler Grund ist, daß ich nur diese beiden Sprachen verstehe und in diesen Sprachen das Forum moderieren kann.

	Please use the forum according to common courtesy, common sense and stick to facts. If you wouldn't say it into their face, don't write it here. Avoid religious and political contents under any circumstances. They are prone to conflict, dispute and to raising controversy.		Nutze das Forum bitte unter Wahrung von Höflichkeit, Anstand und unter Verwendung des gesunden Menschenverstandes. Schreibe nichts, was Du auch niemand ins Gesicht sagen würdest. Vermeide religiöse und politische Themen, denn die sind Konfliktträchtig und führen mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit zu Streit und Hader.
